Apostille Fee explained
How much does an Apostille of a document cost?
In this blog we give a few examples of Fee breakdown under different scenarios.
Standard Apostille Fee
At the time of writing, the government fee (Foreign Office or FCDO) for Standard apostille is £30.
This means if you have 1 document to apostille via standard service the total fee will be:
Our fee + Gov fee = total
£42 + £40 = £82
If 2 documents, then fee will be £82 x 2 = £164 and so on. Unless,
documents are required as a bundle with one apostille.
Adding Solicitor & Notary certification
In some cases, a solicitor needs to certify a document before it can be submitted for Apostille at FCDO. In which case, the total fee will come to:
Our fee + Gov fee + Solicitor’s certification = total
£42 + £40 + £30 = £112
In case a document requires to be notarised instead of solicitor’s certification. The total fee will come to:
Our fee + Gov fee + Notarisation = total
£42 + £40 + £110 = £192
Sometime other services may also be needed e.g. Translation service, Replacement document ordering from GRO etc. which will increase the total cost.
Premium (same-day) Apostille Fee (not available from Jan 2024)
At the time of writing, the government fee (Foreign Office or FCDO) for Premium apostille is £75.
This means if you have 1 document to apostille via standard service the total fee will be:
Our fee + Gov fee = total
£90 + £75 = £165
Adding Solicitor & Notary certification
In some cases, a solicitor needs to certify a document before it can be submitted for Apostille at FCDO. In which case, the total fee will come to:
Our fee + Gov fee + Solicitor’s certification = total
£90 + £75 + £30 = £195
In case a document requires to be notarised instead of solicitor’s certification. The total fee will come to:
Our fee + Gov fee + Notarisation = total
£90 + £75 + £110 = £275
Sometime other services may also be needed e.g. Translation service, Replacement document ordering from GRO etc. which will increase the total cost.
