What is an Apostille?

How Do You Get an Apostille for a UK Passport?

You can’t get an Apostille directly on your physical passport. Instead, the process involves two key steps:

Apostille: Once you have the certified copy, you can send it to the UK’s Legalisation Office (part of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office – FCDO). They will attach the Apostille certificate to the certified copy.

While solicitor certification is sufficient for most countries, certain destinations, such as Spain or the United States, require your Passport to be notarised by a UK notary public before it can be apostilled. For these cases, please have the original Passport posted to our office in London. Once received, we will arrange a video-call verification with our notary public. The fee for the notarisation service is £120.
